Palace of the Pharaoh’s Daugher, Petra, Jordan (Demo)

Qasr el-Bint el-Faroun, “Palace of the Pharaoh’s Daughter”, also referred to as, “The Goddess Temple”

This 1st-century BC building was probably Petra’s main temple, according to Bedouin mythology, the huge slab of stone at the foot of the steps being an altar to the sun god Dushara, chief deity of the Nabataean pantheon.
